If you happen to be traveling in the upcoming weeks through New England, please stop and enjoy the captivating and enigmatic figurative work of Pleiades member Youngsheen Jhe! Her work engages with mystery and identity, individuality and anonymity. Here below Youngsheen Jhe shares details about her upcoming shows:
“In-Between,” a solo exhibition, May 3 – 28, 2017 opening reception: May 5, 6 – 8pm
I have a solo exhibition titled “In-Between” at the Galatea Fine Art gallery in Boston from May 3 – 28, 2017. I tried to depict the unfiltered story of everyday-humans. The world is brimming with all spectrum of stories, stories from the mundane tasks to metaphysical relationship between the creator and the creature. In the depiction of the latter, I always find and depict certain warmth and hope found beneath all the facets of the everyday-human story. The work features mannequin series in Kyoto, Japan and Incheon, Korea.
Galatea Fine Art: 460B Harrison Ave. Boston, MA
“Perception & Reality”, a two-person exhibition, April 26 – June 6, 2017
Art Focus is hosting a two-person exhibition of oil paintings by me and photographs by Sally Bouquet. Debra Olin, director of Art Focus explained that the viewer can read the same theme through our art works although we use very different medium. Sally and I are trying to describe the modernity psychologically using oil and photographs.
Art Focus: New England Biolabs Gallery. 240 County Road, Ipswich.
Lexington Open Studios, April 29 & 30, 11am – 5pm.
Youngsheen will open her studio to the public. Please come and enjoy her art world! You also can enjoy a preview show at Cary Memorial Library. Munroe Center for the Arts, #312 1403 Mass Ave. Lexington, MA
